Itinerary
DAY 01 : / IXB Airport – Phuentsholing (Distance: 170 km. / Driving Time: 5 hrs. / Altitude of Phuentsholing: 293 m.)
Begin your precious one week in Bhutan by coming to Siliguri via airways or railways. Our representative will welcome you at NJP Railway station or IXB Airport warm-heartedly and will further assist your transfer to a majestic place Phuentsholing situated on the northern edge of Indian plains. After a 5-hours long drive, you will land into the place where you will come across a magnificent amalgamation of city and nature as this place is the thriving commercial centre. As you reach Phuentsholing, you will be taken to your pre-booked hotel where you can unwind yourself throughout the night.
DAY 02 : Phuentsholing – Thimphu (Distance: 176 km. / Driving Time: 6 hrs. / Altitude of Thimphu: 2350 m.)
Wake Up all fresh in the morning and have your hot-piping breakfast at the hotel as today, you will be moving to an exotic tourist destination in Bhutan. However, before that, you need to first complete all the formalities of immigration after which you will be driven for approximately 6 hours to reach the capital region of the country, Thimphu. Situated at an altitude of 7,710 feet, this spectacular place will showcase its splendid beauty in different ways. Besides, this place is the home to about one lakh inhabitants which includes the royal family.
As soon as arrive in Thimphu, you will be taken to a luxurious hotel where you can enjoy a scrumptious dinner and, thereafter, rest in the cosy ambience of the room.
DAY 03 : Thimphu Sightseeing
Get up at an early hour in the morning of your third day which is going to be full of excitement because you will be paying your visit to a number of outstanding tourist attractions. Have your hearty Bhutanese breakfast at the hotel itself and start your expedition by visiting the first stop of the day, Kuensel Phodrang. This magnificent structure is also renowned as the Buddha Point where a gigantic statue of Shakyamuni Buddha is constructed as one of the largest Buddha idols in the world. Besides, the spellbinding beauty of the towering mountains and velvet greenery of the place will still your heart. The next stop of the day would be National Memorial Chorten which is constructed in traditional Tibetan-style architecture that entices tourists the most.
Thereafter, you will pay your visit to the Folk Heritage Museum which is dating back to the early 19th century and depicts the traditional Bhutanese rural and farmhouse past of the period. Up next, you will visit one of the most spectacular places in Bhutan, Sangaygang View Point which can also be described as a quintessential photogenic place because of the outstanding view of the mountains and verdant valley. You will then pay your call at the Changangkha Monastery which is an 800 years old construction where locals pay their visit to worship by spinning the metal praying wheels carved with golden and black scrips.
Post lunch you will visit more amusing destinations where you will make a lot of indelible memories. Hence, your next destination would be Takin Preserve Centre that is meant to explore the wildlife of Bhutan as tourists come across a variety of exotic species of animals, especially the national animal of Bhutan, Takin. Later that day, you will be taken to Tashichho Dzong which is the most prominent place for tourists to visit because it has been serving as the seat of the government since 1952. Moreover, at present, it is the house and the office of the present king and his family.
By the time darkness arrives, you will be taken back to your hotel where you can rest in the warmth and calmness of your room.
DAY 04 : : Thimphu – Paro Sightseeing (Distance: 65 km / Driving Time: 2 hrs. / Altitude of Paro: 2280 m)
It is the fourth day of your trip to Bhutan and today you will be visiting another majestic location, Paro, where you will find a marvellous juxtaposition of City and rural lifestyle. After having a delectable breakfast at the hotel, you will leave for Paro which is about 65 km away from Thimphu and is situated at an altitude of 2280 meters. In the middle of the way, you will be stopping at a must-visit location, Tamchog Lhakhang which is a beautiful temple constructed in the name of a 13th century Saint Thangthong Gyalpo, AKA Bridge Builder. So, tourists need to cross a bridge over the river to reach this temple which is one thrilling experience you must have.
As soon as you step into the spellbinding beauty of Paro, the first thing you will do is check-in at the hotel and refresh yourself for further expedition. After midday, you will start exploring the place by visiting Ta Dzong, renowned as the National Museum of Bhutan, where you will come across the precious and wonderful work of religious and historical artists such as relics, paintings, sculptures, and much more. Subsequently, you will be driven to the famous Rinpung Dzong or Paro Dzong which is renowned as a high point of traditional Bhutanese architecture. Besides, this ‘fortress of the heap of jewels’ use to be the meeting hall for the National Assembly, however, today it is house to government offices as well as the monastic body.
As the sun sets, you will be brought back to the hotel in Paro where you spend the night and be more excited for the awaiting adventure.
DAY 05 : : Paro Sightseeing
Wake up to the heavenly beauty of Paro and have your scrumptious morning meal because today you will be visiting other amusing places of the place. Your first destination of the fifth day would be a scenic location, Taktsang Monastery which is famous by the name of ‘Tiger’s Nest’. To reach this stupendous and peaceful place, you need to trek for about 2 hours through the dense forest and base camp. Afterwards, you will pay your visit to Drukgyel Dzong which is recognized as one of the most valuable archaeological sites in the world. You must visit this place without any second doubt because of the strong history told by the ruins is something every tourist should listen. Kyichu monastery would be your next stop which is also the sacred jewel of Bhutan.
Later that day, you will be driven back to your hotel where you will unwind yourself throughout the night.
DAY 06: Paro – Phuentsholing (Distance: 200 km / Driving Time: 7 hrs. / Altitude of Phuentsholing: 293 m)
One the second last day of your tour to Bhutan, you will move to your the place where the most memorable trip of your life began. After you have a refreshing and mouth-watering breakfast, you will indulge yourself in a long drive of 7 hours to reach Phuentsholing. By the time you arrive, you will be all tired and stressed. So, you will check-in at the hotel to de-stress yourself and sleep in the comfortable ambience of your room.
DAY 07 : Phuentsholing – NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport (Distance: 170 km / Driving Time: 5 hrs. / Altitude of NJP/IXB: 89 m)
It is the last day of your trip and it is time for you to return to your routine lifestyle. Pack your bags, have the Bhutanese breakfast for the last time, and leave for Siliguri. On this 5-hours long drive, soak into the beauty of Bhutan and recollect all the unforgettable memories you have made at this heavenly beauty. From Siliguri, take your journey further to your home.
